Why Symptom Suppression Isn’t the Same as Healing

Modern medicine has given us incredible tools to manage symptoms. Painkillers, antidepressants, anti-anxiety medications, and countless other treatments can offer relief to those who are suffering. But here’s the problem: managing symptoms is not the same as resolving the root cause of an illness or discomfort. Symptom suppression is like putting a plaster on a leaking pipe—it might stop the water for a while, but the problem will keep coming back until the underlying issue is fixed.

The Boulderstone Technique works differently. Instead of suppressing symptoms, it addresses the life force blocks that are causing the issue in the first place. This distinction is crucial, and it’s why the technique has been so effective for so many people.

The Purpose of Symptoms

Symptoms aren’t the problem; they’re a message. Whether it’s physical pain, anxiety, sleeplessness, or even something as minor as a headache, symptoms are the body and mind’s way of alerting us to an issue that needs attention. The life force, which flows through every part of us, sends these signals to let us know that something is out of balance.

Take the example of a headache. A doctor might prescribe painkillers, and the headache may go away temporarily. But what caused the headache in the first place? Was it stress? Dehydration? An unresolved emotional conflict? Without addressing the root cause, the headache—or some other symptom—will likely return.

The Problem with Suppression

When we suppress symptoms, we silence the life force’s message. Painkillers may dull the sensation, but they don’t address the underlying issue. Similarly, antidepressants may lift someone’s mood, but they don’t resolve the emotional pain or inner conflict that caused the depression.

Suppression creates a cycle: the symptom is silenced temporarily, but the root cause remains, often becoming more entrenched over time. This can lead to chronic conditions, where the body’s repeated attempts to signal a problem are ignored or masked.

Even worse, suppressing symptoms can create new problems. Medications, while helpful in the short term, often come with side effects that add to the patient’s burden. The body and mind become caught in a loop of suppression and compensation, never resolving the original issue.

Healing with the Life Force

True healing comes from understanding and addressing the root cause of a problem. This is where the life force becomes essential. The life force is the energy that drives all healing and growth. When it flows freely, the body and mind can return to a state of balance and health. When it’s blocked, symptoms arise.

The Boulderstone Technique works by identifying and clearing these blocks. Unlike conventional approaches, it doesn’t focus on the symptom itself. Instead, it follows the life force to uncover what’s causing the symptom. Once the block is resolved, the symptom naturally disappears—because it’s no longer needed as a signal.

Case Example: The Stubborn Symptom

Let’s take an example of a patient who came to me with chronic knee pain. They had tried everything: painkillers, physiotherapy, even surgery. Nothing had worked. When I tuned into their life force, I could feel a block in the flow of energy around the knee. But the cause wasn’t physical—it was emotional.

Through the Boulderstone Technique, we uncovered an old conflict this person had been carrying for years. It had nothing to do with their knee directly, but the emotional tension had settled in their body and created a physical manifestation. Once we resolved the emotional conflict, the pain in the knee disappeared. They were astonished—it was the first time they had been pain-free in years.

This is the power of addressing the root cause. The symptom—knee pain—was just the surface. The real issue lay deeper, in the life force.

The Still Point and True Healing

At the heart of healing is the still point. This is the place where the life force flows freely, unblocked by the tensions and conflicts that create symptoms. Reaching the still point doesn’t require willpower or effort; it requires allowing the life force to do what it’s designed to do: restore balance.

The Boulderstone Technique is about guiding patients to this still point. By focusing on the life force, we can resolve the root cause of symptoms without retraumatisation or unnecessary struggle. Healing becomes natural and effortless because it works with the body and mind’s innate intelligence.

Why Root Cause Healing Matters

Symptom suppression may provide temporary relief, but it doesn’t offer the peace and freedom that come with true healing. When we address the root cause, we don’t just silence the symptom—we remove the need for the symptom altogether. The body and mind no longer have to fight or signal distress because the life force is flowing as it should.

Root cause healing is also faster and more efficient in the long run. While symptom suppression often requires ongoing treatment, resolving the root cause is permanent. Once the block is cleared, the life force takes over, and the problem doesn’t return.

Listening to the Life Force

The next time you experience a symptom, whether it’s physical or emotional, consider this: what is your life force trying to tell you? Instead of reaching for something to silence the symptom, take a moment to tune in. What’s the root cause? What block needs to be cleared?

The Boulderstone Technique is designed to help you answer these questions. By working with the life force, it addresses the root cause of illness and discomfort, offering true healing rather than temporary relief.

Healing isn’t about ignoring symptoms or masking them; it’s about listening to the life force and following it to the still point. That’s where real health and happiness lie.
